World Cup Superfinal - Mexico Valle de Bravo 2011 Goal for Petra Slivova

Posted : 1 year 3 months ago

Petra is coming at the end of speed section right now. She is high enough to come to the goal without any troubles and will probably retains her female World Cup Champion title.

Seiko Fukuoka will surely be 2nd overall, and Regula Strasser who is now on her final glide should stand 3rd.
More once we have got the results.

World Cup Superfinal - Mexico Valle de Bravo 2011 Neuenschwander, Armant or Helgesen ?

Posted : 1 year 3 months ago

From the livetracking system, it's very hard to say, who just won the task. One could excpect that Peter Neuenschwander just got it !! We lost Luc Armant's signal on the last few meters so Luc may still be ahead. Helgesen was also quite close.

We'll have to wait for tracklogs download / check to be sure about it but if there is no big surprises then we can think that Peter Neuenschwander is a new paragliding legend !

World Cup Superfinal - Mexico Valle de Bravo 2011 Armant for a win ??

Posted : 1 year 3 months ago

Luc Armant left his thermal earlier thant the others pilots to try his luck a win another task...
This arrival can be very tricky as the pilots must cross the lake to catch the end of speed section and then tag an additional turnpoint before crossing the goal line.
Leaving this area with enough altitude is decisive.
Let's see !!

World Cup Superfinal - Mexico Valle de Bravo 2011 Close to the final glide !!

Posted : 1 year 3 months ago

As excpected the pilots who took over the messa instead of climbing on the take off ridge are now living a nightmare seeing all the other group crusing 500m over their head. Neuenscwander and Caron are both in strong position together with Armant and Wirtz. Charles Cazaux being just slightly distanced at the moment.

Pilots are now already taking their last thermal before final glide !
They made it crazy fast !

World Cup Superfinal - Mexico Valle de Bravo 2011 Risky option !

Posted : 1 year 3 months ago

Some pilots are now trying to go straight on the turnpoint and took a 'shurtcut' over the messa heading directly to the turnpoint #4. That's looking very risky on a tactical point of view. Luckos, Littame, Becera, Ogisawa, Durogati and others are in it. Main overall leaders are all climbing in the meantime.

World Cup Superfinal - Mexico Valle de Bravo 2011 Paragliding is easy...

Posted : 1 year 3 months ago

The pilots are now already back to the take off main ridge. Paragliding is looking very easy when you just watch them flying like that. In fact we can be sure that they're now pushing HARD on their speedbars... There was no hard path coming back to this 3rd Tunrpoint.

Main leaders are still ahead.
Great race so far from both Legend Richard Gallon and Jimmy Pacher.

World Cup Superfinal - Mexico Valle de Bravo 2011 Petra Slivova tagged Turnpoint 4

Posted : 1 year 3 months ago

Petra Slivova just tagged tunrpoint 4 and unfortunatly we have no news from Seiko's tracker (lost signal).
If Petra can reach the goal anyhow, she'll be assured to retain the title !

World Cup Superfinal - Mexico Valle de Bravo 2011 Trying to get back to the take off area

Posted : 1 year 3 months ago

The leading group is now willing to go back to the take off area. In spite of not being the shortest track to catch Turnpoint 4, this is what they consider as the fastest option. Nobody look interested by going staight on over the flatland...
