Info : 3 main changes in 2011

3 main changes for 2011 !

-Selections and payment deadline :
The selection for each World Cup will be 3 months before each event (except Colombia, selections on november 15th).
Each pilot is requested to confirm his participation within 5 days following his selection.

-Discards
Same as last year, there will be no discards in World Cups.
The European Cup (Austria+Turkey+Spain) will be scored with 1/3 discards, calculated with FTV.
The Superfinal system will be decided at the general assembly 2011.

-Superfinal
The Top 15 + 3 female pilots of each World Cup + the European Cup, will receive immediate selection.
For the remaining places, the next ranked pilots will be selected according to their position and the competition quality.
The winners of the upcoming Pre-World Cups will be granted selection for the Superfinal.
Superfinal entry fee will stay at 300 €.

Paragliding World Cup Superfinal 2010 - Denizli, Turkey - More videos

About half way through the SuperFinal there was a problem uploading videos to the server we normally use (Vimeo) so we had to change server for the rest of the competition. Philippe has now transferred all of the SuperFinal videos across to Vimeo. The top videos here have not yet been posted ... the batch below were originally posted on MPORA and DailyMotion but are here for people who prefer to see them without the ads at the start.

PARAGLIDING WORLD CUP SUPERFINAL 2010 - FINAL RESULTS

Its all over - and a very exciting final task. The Elapsed Time element meant that, right up to the end, we could not be sure who had even won the task !

The winner of todays task, with a goal time of 1 hour 0 mins and 1 second is current World Champion Charles Cazaux (FRANCE / ORANGE - MORZINE)

First woman today with a goal time of 1 hour 23 mins 24 seconds is Petra Slivova (Czech Republic / Merrell)

And today's winning team is Charles Cazaux, Luc Armant, Russell Ogden and Seiko Fukuoka Naville - Ozone

So now we come to the Paragliding World Cup 2010 Final Results

Winning the open competition and therefore the 2010 Paragliding World Cup Champion is Yann Martail (France / Alixa - Ozone)

And the new 2010 Paragliding World Cup Womens Champion is Petra Slivova (Czech Republic / Merrell)

The PWCA World Champion Team 2010 is Michael Sigel, Alex Hofer, Stefan Wyss and Regula Strasser - Spälti.

2nd October 2010 - Denizli, Turkey - Day 11 - Task 7 - First in Goal is Joel Debons

We saw it on the live tracking and we have just received a call from the Goal field. The first pilot into goal is Joel Debons - but this is an Elapsed time race so we won't know the fastest time until the last pilots have landed.
