GETTING TO PIEDRAHITA :
FROM THE AIRPORT :
* BY COACH
We are about 190 km for Barajas airport in Madrid. The very best way to get here is by
coach, which leaves the Estacion Sur de Autobuses in Madrid
and brings you to Piedrahita in approximately 2.5 hour sat a cost of 1.500 pts (approx 6
GBP). To get to the bus station you must get a taxi from the
airport, and should take care not to be overcharged. the cost is generally about 2.500
-3.000 pts. If you are charged significantly more, take the
information of the taxi driver, licence number etc.
Coaches leave monday to thursday at 8.30 and 16.10 hrs. On Fridays and Saturdays there is
an extra service at 15.00 and 20.30 hrs and on Sundays a
service only at 3.30 and 20.30 hrs.
Back to Madrid there are services Monday to Friday leaving Piedrahita at 8.30 and 16.45
hrs...
* BY TRAIN
There are hourly trains from the Estacion de Trenes Chamartin to Avila.
Avila is still 50 km from Piedrahita, and the only buses are the same as those coming from
Madrid - which are better caught there. From Avila to
Piedrahita a taxi will cost 5000 pts.
