I would like to propose a change to the rules to stop the cancellation of tasks on the last day of competition in a PWC round.
In Slovenia we were told at the first briefing that we would only fly the last day if
we had not had any tasks up until then.
It is my understanding that a PWC is 6 days long to get a maximum of 5 valid tasks, so in
my opinion we should only cancel the last day if we
already have completed those five tasks.
We all put in a lot of time and money to go to PWC events presumably with the main goal
of getting as much flying and as many tasks as possible
to get a well deserved winner and I can't understand the reasoning behind cancelling the
last day when we only have had one or two tasks except
to save the organizers some money in films and transport etc.
In Argentina, the last day and the only successful task was jeopardized when a number
of pilots had booked their flights to go home and the organisers
considered cancelling the day.
Most pilots I speak to agree that the competition is for the pilots and we should do
all we can to get as many tasks as possible, not to
save money for the organisers.
In summary... I propose that the last day should always be a task day unless five valid tasks have been completed.
Thanks.
